This site is hosted by AVODAH: The Jewish Service Corps, which launched its New Orleans program in the fall of 2008. AVODAH engages young people in direct work on the causes and effects of poverty in the United States. This work partners Corps members with service providers and residents in low income communities and equips our Corps members and alumni to emerge as lifelong agents for social change, whose work for justice is rooted in and nourished by Jewish values.

e2 (squared) is an ongoing PBS series about the economies of being environmentally conscious. With a combination of policy technology and ingenuity. From energy consumption to building efficiency. It chronicles global efforts to solve pressing ecological challenges.

In season three, there is an episode entitled “New Orleans: The Water Line.” You can watch it for free online, and it features Pam Dashiell, co-President of the Lower 9th Ward Center for Sustainable Engagement and Development, where Corps member David Eber works. It is a thirty minute video that is very informative, and narrated by Brad Pitt, about the exciting happenings in the 9th Ward surrounding sustainabile redevelopment.
